I am a grandfather, a veteran, a retired mailman, and a local resident who understands local issues. I have more than 20 years experience working towards legislation that is fair to people and business at the Federal and the State level.

I've always felt happiest serving others. As the oldest of five children, I grew up caring for those around me.  I enlisted in the Navy after high school and served from 1969-1973 during the Vietnam War. My mother introduced me to my future wife, Sally, when I was home on leave. Sally served in the Army from 1968-1970. We married in September of 1970. We've been married for 47 years and are blessed with two children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

After returning home from the Navy in 1973, I held a number of jobs. Like so many of your employers, each place I worked closed as our local economy struggled to compete. Full-time employment was hard to find, so my wife and I worked part-time as we struggled to provide for our family. Sally worked as a Nurse's Aide for many years and became an LPN in 1992.

In 1986, I got a job with the United States Postal Service as a truck driver. Two years later, I transferred to the letter carrier position and served in that position until my retirement in 2012.

I am running to be the next Ohio State Representative for District 5 because our elected representatives have forgotten that real people - our friends, families, and neighbors - are affected by the decisions they make in Columbus.
